The Old Town Alexandria district along the edge of the Potomac River is a nationally designated historic site and a place that our first president, George Washington, once called home. There is an abundance of shopping for a friends’ day out and excellent food to enjoy with a special date along one of America’s “Great Streets,” which we know as King Street. Upcoming Events in and around Old Town Alexandria
Historic Walking Tour – Go for a stroll on June 16 and 17 on this fun walking tour with Portner Brewhouse. Learn about the origins of Alexandria’s local brewing and take part in beer samplings.
Torpedo Talks – Hear a special lecture every second Thursday in June, July, and August at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. From 6 to 9 PM, meet artists and look around open galleries. At 8 PM, hear well-known artists discuss special topics like Comic Book Films.
