The annual event includes children’s activities, a performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, birthday cake and a fireworks extravaganza. Lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic (snacks) are encouraged but there will also be food available for purchase!
The celebration will run from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. (or until the fireworks run out) at Oronoco Bay Park along the Potomac River between Fairfax, Pendleton and Madison Streets.
A closer look at the schedule:
  • 7:30 - The Town Crier Announces Mayor William D. Euille, presentation of Park and Recreation Comission’s CIVIC Awards
  • 8:00 - Birthday Cake
  • 8:30 - Performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra
  • 9:30 - Fireworks, featuring the “1812 Oveture” with Cannon Support by the United States Marine Corps
The city of Alexandria is an integral part of American history. Founded in 1749, Alexandria was the hometown of George Washington and Robert E. Lee and was widely known to be one of the busiest ports in all of America.
This year’s event will be extra special as it kicks off the first ever Alexandria Live Music Week!
